We understand it is difficult balancing family activities & work. We do our best to be flexible.  Customers are required to review our policies.


Any check returned for insufficient funds will be subject to a $30 fee, and other collection and attorney’s fees as may be provided by law. There is a monthly $20 late fee for any balances over due date.


Class registration can be completed online. For late registration during a session already in progress, if space is available, we will pro-rate the cost of the remaining classes. Artists should only be registered for classes that are age appropriate as indicated in the class description. Your child is not enrolled in a class until full payment is received. You will be notified if your child is in jeopardy of losing their spot for any reason. There are no refunds for class cancellation as our classes are small. Once your artist is enrolled, we turn away other artists. Thank you for understanding this policy.

Should your child(ren) need to miss a class, please call, text or email the studio prior to the start of the scheduled class. We will be happy to schedule a make-up class (preferably during the same week). Please note: Any class that is missed without notice is considered a “no show” & is not tracked; it cannot be made up and no refund or credit will be given for that missed class.Any missed classes must be made up by end of session enrolled. It is up to the parent to organize with teacher missed class. Missed classes do not roll over into new sessions. For a withdrawal after the first class, a prorated studio credit will be provided that may be used any time during the next 12 months. In the rare event a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, we will either give you a refund or apply the class fee to another class at your option. A full refund will be given if withdraw from class is given no less than two days before class start.

Sorry we do not travel. We prefer to hold our painting parties in our studio because we have wonderful lighting to see clearly when we teach you to blend colors and paint. We have a beautifully decorated space that is bright, spacious & cheerful.

We understand that accidents happen and that people drop paintbrushes with paint on our floor and sometimes spill their water cup with dirty paint water but we are an art studio & a little misplaced paint is expected! No worries if any spills at our studio.

Art is messy!  Worrying about keeping clothes and shoes clean restricts the creative process so we generally do not prefer smocks, although we do have paint smocks. Children should wear old comfy play clothes and shoes that can get messy. Crocs and rubber shoes/boots are practical and fun studio attire.Remember – your child is an artist – a little paint in the hair and the occasional purple fingers distinguishes him among his friends who have chosen less adventurous pursuits.


Please plan carefully as we do not offer refunds only studio credit. If you need to cancel and have already paid for the camp, your payment (less the camp cancellation fee-$100 full week/$30 1 day camp) will be refunded as a studio credit if we are notified in writing 30 days prior to the start of camp ( There are no refunds for last minute cancellations less than seven days prior. When you register, we hold your spot & turn away other artists. We plan our art supplies & staff based upon your registration. If we are able to fill the spots after the 30 days notice by contacting our waiting list-we are happy to offer a studio credit minus the cancellation fee. Our camps are small and have wait lists, so our policies are to protect our customers & studio. We appreciate your understanding this policy.

There is a $15 fee for every 15 minutes late at pick up after 3:30. If over 15 minutes late $15 per 5 minutes. We have appointments after camp that we cannot be late for. Appreciate your understanding.


We will generally adhere to the Wallingford Public School System schedule in the event of inclement weather. Check our website home page for announcements. If the studio is closed due to weather, we will notify you of make-up classes. If school is delayed, the studio will hold classes at its regular time; however, please contact the studio if it is not possible for your child to attend. Please check our website for updates, or call the studio at 203-889-6236 for special announcements. If we have a delay start time or closing, we will email you, text as well as post on our website. 

At Splat Art Stdio, we prefer to share creativity, not germs. In consideration for others, please refrain from sending your child to the studio when they are feeling under the weather.  Additionally if your child is too sick for school, they are presumed to be too sick to attend art class later that day. We reserve the right to restrict admission or send a child home, when, in our opinion that child is ill or risks the health or well-being of other children. Please contact the studio to make special arrangements for a sick day make-up session.

Please plan accordingly as we do not offer refunds. When you register for a camp, we hold that space specifically for your child while others are not able to enroll. We also understand that sometimes plans change. Your camp registration includes a $100 non-refundable cancellation fee per camp.

A studio credit will be given if cancellation is made before April 15. Cancellation must be made in writing to: Your payment (less the non-refundable $100 deposit) will be refunded in the form of a studio credit

No studio credit for cancellations made after April 15. We understand plans change, however, when you sign up, we turn others away. Even though we may have a waitlist, those on the waitlist may have made alternate plans. This protects our studio & campers. Thank you for understanding. (policy updated 1/23/23)


Why is there a $100 cancellation fee if I cancel? The $100 non-refundable cancellation fee is an important part of your camp registration, as it helps to support the agreement between you and Splat Art Studio that comes along with registering for a camp. Additionally, your $100 cancellation fee helps offset our processing fees and costs associated with your cancellation such as: updating the website and registration form or notifying students on the waitlist, registering a new student to fill the space, invoicing and more. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding of this policy.    


Any student found to be disruptive to the program or teachers may be dismissed to the camp/class with no refund. We have a no tolerance policy for disruptive behavior.


If upon receipt of your registration a class or camp is full, we will notify you by email and will place the child on a waiting list. If we have any cancellations prior to the first class, we will draw from the waiting list in the order that a registration was received. If the class is full & a payment is made we will either give you an opportunity to register for another class or refund your money.

Children are allowed to bring their own nut free snacks and drinks to the studio. Peanut free please. We strive to be allergy conscious and provide a safe environment for your child.  Parents/Guardians are responsible for indicating any allergies or other medical conditions of the child on the Registration Form, and promptly updating us if there are any changes to that information. We require all children who are prescribed an epi-pen, inhaler, or diabetic monitor carry it with them at all times while on the premises, no exceptions. Parents/Guardians assume full responsibility for their child’s allergies and medical conditions.


Gift cards received via email have a gift card code which can be applied at check out.

Gift certificates purchased prior to 2023: Please email us at with the class, camp or workshop you would like to apply your gift certificate to tuition. We will enroll your child and email price difference. Balance can be paid with cash or check. Thank you!


Service fees are the costs that we incur when processing payments from customers.
